100 mile wilderness run in August/September

Some folks I've been corresponding with for a while are looking to put together a small run of the 100 mile wilderness in August or September. They are thinking about a 2 or 3 day-stage run and are looking to make plans with people interesting in running it or in providing some support.

This isn't my thing and its too far from home for me to go up just to help out, but if anyone is interested in running, helping or has done it before please let me know. I'd love to put you in touch.

I'll double check, but my understanding is that it is an informal "lets get some folks together and do this" kind of thing.

When specifically? Also how fast, how much support?

They are still in the planning stages - trying to recruit some co-conspirators. They are looking now at early September. Their framework right now is to do it in two or 3 days and to have a couple stops each day with food and drink ready and to have camp set and ready.

I'd have had them post to VFTT, but they aren't registered now.

Entertainment

I hope it goes forward. It is bound to be quite entertaining for the AT Thru-hikers. Nice time of year to hold this. Ought to be a blast.

GBKDalton is ok so far
I saw two guys running in the hundred mile wilderness during my thru-hike last year. It was for Lou Gerig's disease (at least I think so). I wasn't sure if they were doing the whole trail (it was getting pretty late in the year for any kind of south-bound). They looked miserable, their jog was more of a crawl. It was on the road before Rainbow Stream shelter. Wouldn't be that hard if you had vehicle support-there are more roads in the so-called "wilderness" then most of Maine. I should know-I slacked half of it with a guy who slacked the whole thing!

Why don't you just post the address of the involved parties since you are not participating in any meaningful way??
