oldmt46r is ok so far
Thumbs up Castle Rock 1/31/10

The plan for the day was to do Blue Mt but when I got up that way Blue was socked in so I did "The Rock".
The trail was hard packed with 2-3 inches of new snow & easy to follow. No need for snowshoes, just micro spikes up and back, although I carry all my winter gear with me.
Blue Mt Lk. is right there so the view from the top is great anytime of the year! It snowed on & off all afternoon. Nice quick hike to an awesome spot!
This is a good hike for people who are just getting into hiking/snowshoeing.
