Trail: AT Sages Ravine to Prospect Mountain Date Hiked: 4-6 April 07 Conditions: Due to the recent cold, rain, snow the trail is icy in many sections. The climb out of Sages Ravine to Bear Mountain is very hard. Rocks up high are covered in verglas ice making then very slippery. Likewise is the decent down to Limestone Lean-to. Caution is advised. Special Required Equipment: Foot traction (stabilicers)could be helpful but not necessary. Poles are definitly excellent for good bacance. Winter gear, it was a cold and windy three days. Comments: I found the trail throughout this section very well maintained and much recent work. My thanks and Kudos to the AMC Chapter responsible for this great trail work. The Lean-tos I stayed at were fantastic. There are some very large trees that need tending to, I know they will be delt with is short order. Thanks for the flagged bypass around one of them.
