Trail: Conn. N-S Traverse #7 -- Finis

Date Hiked: Nov. 17, 2007

Conditions: Slippery leaves on the traprock slabs of the Regicide Trail through West Rock Ridge State Park in New Haven.

Special Required Equipment: A flask would have been appropriate at Yale Bowl, where they seemed to be playing a Game. Running shoes and a tough look for Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. A bathing suit for the West Haven beaches, if a little warmer.

Comments: We started a year or so ago with the Metacomet Trail, by the Mass. border in Suffield, and Hike No. 7 today brought us to Bradley Point in West Haven, on the Sound. We hiked all of the Metacomet Tr., half of the Mattabassett Tr., then from Durham to West Haven a bunch of varied stuff, including Sleeping Giant and West Rock ridges.

Tramper Al came up with the idea and planned the whole thing. TOday's crew also included Dugan, Weatherman and me. Al, Dugan and I were able to complete all 7 installments.
