Trail: Ship Rock, Peabody MA (Glacial Erratic) Date Hiked: 05-25-06 Conditions: Dry trail and overgrown. Some blowdowns but easily got around. No views from the base of the rock but the top of the rock does reach the surrounding treeline and could offer some views. Special Required Equipment: A 12' ladder. The old iron ladder from the ground has been removed. The pinned ladder on the top of the rock still remains.
Comments: This glacial erratic protrudes off a high ledge and is situated halfway between Lynnfield St and Centennial Industrial Park in Peabody MA. Ship Rock is the largest boulder erratic in the area. Submitted by: Tom & Janine |
