Trail: Warner trail - Ferm Mtn Rd in Sharon to Foxboro Conservation Land

Date Hiked: Oct. 28

Conditions: This trail was a lot harder to navigate than I expected it to be. If you can figure out where the trail starts on Dedham Street, you're already doing better than me... I had the luxury of being dropped of so I started my hike from Mt. Fern Road instead. Blazing is very sparse and often only at intersections -- so if you head the wrong way you won't realize it for a long time. When you reach the Moose Hill Sanctuary, follow the rectangular white blazes... and turn right onto the Ovenbird Trail. (This information would have been extremely helpful for me... I made a lengthy detour down the Kettle Trail, unaware that the shape of the blazes had changed.) Look for a left hand turn off South Walpole Street at telephone pole #46. The left-hand turn on Edwards Street is at telephone pole #27... this also would have been good info to know before hand.

Special Required Equipment: You will definitely want the AMC Guide's written description of the trail with you.

Comments: Navigational issues aside, this was a lovely ramble through the woods (and a few subdivisions.) Geese, snake and squirrel sightings but no deer. I probably added an extra couple of miles to the hike backtracking and trying to figure out the correct path in spots. Nice to have just a 15 minute drive home instead of three to four hours.
