Trail: Wachusett, Semuhenna and Old Indian trails

Date Hiked: 11/25/07

Conditions: All trails in good shape. Some ice near the top of the Harrington and Old Indian trails. Easily avoidable.

Special Required Equipment: Windbreaker and binoculars.

Comments: Took a loop hike starting at the Benton Pond trailhead. Went past the pond and balance rock, up the Semuhenna trail to the Harrington trail to the summit. On the way down we followed the Old Indian trail all the way back to the balanced rock.

Lots of leaves on the trail made it a bit tough to follow, however there are trail markers on every other tree. Only saw a few other hikers on the trail. Great panoramic views from the summit. The lift to the summit was already in business, however the ski trails that the Old Indian trail crosses still do not have any snow.

Mt. Wachusett is a great mountain to hike if you don't have the time to get up to the White Mountains.
