Trail: Safford BrookTr. to Little Bigelo back to Flagstaff Lake Rd. Date Hiked: 5-26-07 Conditions: There were a lot of blow-downs on the west side of the mountain some were harder than others. Little ice that you needed to walk over but not enough to make very slippery. There were snow patches on the side of the trail. Nice weather and view points of Avery and Sugarloaf but it was hazy. Interesting animals and sounds but very, very, very buggy. Easy going down the mountain. It was pretty dry but some mud patches. Special Required Equipment: You will need hiking poles because of some of the mud spots. If you are wondering about snowshoes no, you don't need them, but you might need a sweatshirt just in case. Comments: I thought the sites were very pretty. I used 24 out of 27 pictures on my camera. There was one viewpoint were I put my sweatshirt on. That was the only time I put my sweatshirt on.
