Trail: Bemis Peak 1 and 2 via AT and bushwhack loop

Date Hiked: May 27, 2007

Conditions: AT in great shape. Trail crew has been out and did a super job! No snow on trail!

Special Required Equipment: None. Bushwhack was easy, so no special gear or clothing needed. Black flies were not out that morning, but were around camp later in the day.

Comments: Great to get out in the mountain behind our camps. Great views of most western Maine mountains, Rangeley Lakes and Tumbledown/Jackson range. Bushwhack started just a bit east of Peak 2 summit. Headed south over ledges and through a couple of thickets. Picked up old tote road that went pass two gorgeous ponds and came out to logging road. Took that road down hill to Bemis Track and back to truck at AT trailhead. Great to hike with Tom M. again. Weather was fantastic.
