Trail: AT from East B Hill Rd, Andover to South Arm Rd

Date Hiked: 6-10-07

Conditions: A mix of dry and wet. A good section of blowdowns after Wyman Mt, and a few on the ascent of Moody Mt. Sawyer Brook crossing somewhat high, but manageable without too much sogginess. Crossing of Black Brook by South Arm Rd high, not possible to rock hop without getting wet feet

Special Required Equipment: Poles useful for stream crossings.

Comments: We enjoyed a bright and sunny hike on the trail today. Ascent up to Surplus Pond and over Wyman Mtn. pretty mellow. Lots of lady slippers, bunchberry, gold thread, blue bead lilies along the trail. Also a few trout lilies and trillium hanging on. Descent into and then back out of Sawyer Notch pretty rugged and tough. Luckily descent off Moody Mtn down to South Arm Road a bit gentler.
Earl at The Cabin was once again our happy shuttle driver. Wonderful to just drive up one car for this point-to-point hike!
