Trail: Old Speck via Eyebrow

Date Hiked: 6/21/2007

Conditions: Ascent via the Eyebrow was dry, good traction, only issue perhaps was that some of the poles that the cable railing runs along have been bent almost to the ground in places, but this posed no real issues. Ascent and subsequent descent via the AT was perfectly fine. No blowdowns, loose boulders (that I could find), plank bridges are in good shape, etc.

Special Required Equipment: None, though a little bug spray might useful on some days, but they weren't bad yesterday at all.

Comments: Fantastic hike, trail is enjoyable both while in the woods and on it's several vistas. One note - somebody has vandalized the ATC sign near the summit, where the AT to Speck Pond and the summit trail branch off. They wrote "Sucks" in black marker next to the ATC engraving. "ATC Sucks", in other words. Maybe some kind person can think to bring up a small bottle of white paint next time they go up, to erase the libelous vandalism on the sign. You'd have to be quite a jerk to write something like that.
