Trail: AT over Baldpates from Grafton Notch to East B Hill Road

Date Hiked: 6-24-07

Conditions: Trail in good shape, and relatively dry.

Special Required Equipment: Suncreen and sunglasses. It was sunny on the summits. Windy too--I put my hat and gloves on for a bit.

Comments: What a gorgeous day to be out, and what a nice hike! We had hiked up the Baldpates before, but didn't remember the summits being so nice. Great views in all directions. The col between the peaks had some nice bog bridges with some neat grasses with white fluff balls on their tips (anyone know what they are?) blowing in the breeze. A bit breezy starting at West Baldpate summit until we started our descent for Little Baldpate. Woods after Frye Notch Lean-to very nice, with ladyslippers, wood sorrel, canada mayflowers, starflowers and blue beads out and blooming.
