Trail: Bemis Peaks 1-3 via AT

Date Hiked: 06/30/2007

Conditions: Very dry and well maintained. Very little water in the minor streams you cross and at Bemis Lean-to.

Special Required Equipment: Good knees - this is a rough trail. Sticky rubber soles helped for descent off Peak 1 (I felt like Spiderman)

Comments: Great 10 mile hike and very quiet on this stretch of the AT as usual. My wife dropped me off to the trailhead. I hiked up to Peak 3, turned around and headed to camp to mow the lawn. Stopped for lots of tasty strawberries on the road walk from the Bemis Track to my camp. Great views of Rangeley Lakes and most of the western 4ks. Quite cool conditions for the last day of June!
