Trail: Mount Goose Eye via the Wright Trail

Date Hiked: 7/27/2007

Conditions: Overall the trail was in good shape but is definely in need of some TLC. On the Wright Trail section be especially careful on the boardwalks and wooden steps, as many are rotting and could give way. The AT section was in great shape with many steps and ladders fastens to the rock. Whether decending the North or South forks, use caution in wet conditions as the rock can get quite slippery.

Special Required Equipment: Usual summer gear but be prepared for fowl weather. Upper portion of the trail is exposed. First 2.5mi theres plenty of chances to replentish water--Filter of course. After that water is scarce so bring plenty.

Comments: Access road to the Wright Trailhead and parking area is passable by any type vehicle. Summitpost.com provides excellent direcions to the trailhead. A word of caution here though, niether the trailhead or parking area is marked but there are signs along the dirt access road with milages.
