Date Hiked: 8/12/07

Conditions: The woods are an odd combination of damp and dry. Stream crossings are no problem. Beware of the body of a moose a little ways into the notch, now about 6 weeks dead, and very smelly .

Special Required Equipment: I decided to try my new approach shoes today, but the choice was difficult, thinking I might prefer ankle support to a little extra grip. Was happy with my choice.

Comments: The day was hot and humid and about half of our group ran out of water. Others shared their extra so no one went overly thirsty. I had forgotten to bring my water filter but did bring an ice pack for bumps or twists which we didn't need.
