Trail: Baxter Peak via Hunt Trail

Date Hiked: 9/9/07

Conditions: The Hunt Trail was dry overall with two small sections of running water in the trail, but nothing to worry about. Only one blowdown to negotiate.

Special Required Equipment: A shell for the wind and mist at the tableland. A camera for the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the basins when it did clear.

Comments: It was my first time on Katahdin. It was awesome. The peak was in the clouds until we started down. When we hit the tableland, the peak was clearing up, and we were blessed with a great view of Baxter Peak and part of Knifes Edge. AWESOME.
