Trail: Fire warden's trail Pleasant Mt. Date Hiked: 10/18/07 Conditions: The lower 1/3 of trail in great condition, the upper 1/3 covered with ice. A couple of downed trees which I have never encountered on this trail before Special Required Equipment: Stableicers would be very helpful for the upper 1/3 of trail. Comments: The lower part of this trail up to the foot bridge is a walk in the park. Easily the best trail of all the trails on Pleasant Mt. A little over half way up water starts flowing on the trail. This continues pretty well to the top. The upper 1/3 is covered with ice. Especially for going down you will either need Stableicers or plan to bushwhack along the side of the trail which Lauky and I did. The other trails on the mountain probably are mostly free of ice. There was a light dusting of snow at the top. Submitted by: Ed and Lauky the Welsh Terrorist |
