Date Hiked: 11/18/07

Conditions: 1" snow at trailhead, 5"+ at summit of West Baldpate with a couple deeper drifts. Fairly icy from Baldpate Lean-to to summit.

Special Required Equipment: Snowshoes not necessary. Crampons not necessary. Stabilicers might be useful, especially above Baldpate Lean-to. I bare booted the whole way. Pole very handy.

Comments: I couldn't get Becker to go down the ladder just north of the West Baldpate and there wasn't an easy walk around. If I was four-legged, I probably wouldn't try the ladder either. I'll have to try for East Baldpate another time. Beautiful day in the mountains never-the-less.
