Trail: Blue Mt. (Weld)

Date Hiked: 11/24/07

Conditions: icy! The three mile Mt. Blue State Park access road was twin ribbons of skating-rink quality ice. The car gave me a white-knuckle experience, sliding once, but came out of it okay. The trail, wide and rocky, was also icy. Several viewpoints up top provided excellent VFTT. The old fire tower is a skeleton with no ladder.

Special Required Equipment: Stabilicers did the job on the trail. Would've tried out the new Kahtula spikes, but Santa hasn't brought 'em yet.

Comments: This little peak (3180)has great views, thanks to its 1840' prominence.
I have two left for the Finest Fifty prominence list.
