Trail: Mt. Nancy

Date Hiked: 11/12/2007

Conditions: Nancy pond trail in good condition and all stream crossings possible without getting wet. Herd path up Mt. Nancy very steep but fairly easy to find (at the Norcross pond exit) and follow (essentially straight up with modest switchbacking), except for a couple of points where it seems to "disappear" for a bit, particulary at the slide (don't cross it, path turns right and goes up just before the slide). Herd path had about an inch of snow/ice which made it a bit tricky, probably won't be passable much longer this season without mountaineering gear.

Special Required Equipment: Partner has Stabilicers, I didn't (but wish I did) but still made it. Gloves for holding on during the decent useful.

Comments: The hike in from 302, the ponds, the view into the Pemi from the Norcross Pond exit, and the view from atop Mt. Nancy were beautiful--all in all a very rewarding hike. And #56 of 100 checked off in the process.
