Trail: Benton to Moosilauke

Date Hiked: 11/13

Conditions: Trail dry and clear for first 1.3 miles (about to that nice view point), then got quickly progressively icier and deeper snow. By 2 Miles, theres about 6-8" of snow (though 50 degrees and rain will likely remedy that)

Special Required Equipment: Rule #1: Always read VFTT before hiking!!! :) I should have brought snowshoes, they would have been great. Stabilicers were key as well. Poles have become a standard in the pack.. must be my age! :)

Comments: This was fun. I'd never been up Moosi. on Benton. Got turned around last time due to back pain. Went all the way up to where you poke out of treeline and turned around. I'd summited twice before so no need to bag it again, and it was just plain cold, windy and nasty out!!
