Trail: Wildcat Ridge trail to 19 Mile Brook Trail

Date Hiked: 11/17/2007

Conditions: Ellis River crossing very difficult because of high water and ice covered rocks. About six inches of unpacked snow on the Wildcat Ridge Trail. Wet and slushy on the 19 Mile Brook Trail.

Special Required Equipment: Stabilicers or crampons essential on Wildcat Ridge Trail. At this point snowshoes are overkill. Many of the ledges are covered with snow and ice. Poles very helpful.

Comments: Beautiful day on the ridge. Apparently, it snowed 6-8 inches on Friday and Friday night. It snowed lightly all morning. We got first tracks except for the fox the we followed for 2-3 miles.
