Trail: Crawford, Resolution & Parker - Davis, Parker and Langdon trails

Date Hiked: Nov. 17

Conditions: Big mix of conditions from ice to about five inches of snow to brooks running down the trail. Davis Path was in good shape and easy to follow. The Mt. Parker Trail from Resolution to Mt. Parker was overgrown and brushy in spots and had lots of blowdowns -- though all are easily negotiated. From Mt. Parker to the junction with the Mt. Langdon Trail, it has a very different character -- well maintained and easy to follow. The Mt. Langdon Trail was in good shape and easy to follow even in the dark. The long exception was a few junctions that weren't on the map... just stay on the main road at those points.

Special Required Equipment: I carried both snowshoes and crampons but didn't use either. Some of the group used stabilicers on the ledgy areas but the "ice" was soft enough to bareboot without trouble

Comments: My first time on Crawford... the views were fantastic. We missed the bushwhack to the other Resolution (possibly main?) peak though we wandered around the ledges for a bit. Will have to go back in less snowy weather to find out what we missed. Great day, great company, great views though the hike was tougher than I expected it to be! Team was rocksnrolls, ScenicNH, GlennS, dougeh and me.
