Trail: Mts. Flume & Liberty, up Osseo, down Liberty Springs

Date Hiked: 11/18/07

Conditions: Increasing snow with elevation to about 6" along the ridge to Mt. Flume. Deeper snow between peaks to knee deep in places. Ice under the snow below the summit of Mt. Liberty required some care. From Mt. Liberty down, packed snow with some ice on exposed rocks. Crossings in good shape. Eroded part of lower Liberty Trail was a mudfest for a few of tenths of a mile

Special Required Equipment: We wore traction from the summit of Mt. Liberty down. Marginal snowshoe conditions between peaks. We bare booted but left the trails in pretty good shape.

Comments: Stunning day on the summits and in the woods. Great to hike with John again after many months. Winter pack feels heavy...
