Trail: Mts. Skatutakee and Thumb, Harris Center Date Hiked: 11/18/07 Conditions: Fallen leaves, traces of snow higher up. Some ice. Special Required Equipment: Usual gear. I like poles, especially to help with balance when find the leaf covered rocks. Comments: We took the loop clockwise, up Skatutakee, then over to Thumb and down. (Aren't they fun names?) Got off trail at the lower section of Thumbs Down Trail, probably because of some sort of road-building activity for logging. We came out just down the road from where we should have. Check out the Harris Center website for PDF map and trail description. Loop is about 5 miles in length. Submitted by: Ellen |
