Trail: Mt. Crawford via Davis Path

Date Hiked: Mon. Nov. 19, 2007

Conditions: Trail in good shape. Dusting of snow in the bottoms and increasing to about 3 to 4 inches at the summit. Mostly packed with ice mixture. Ledges mostly clear with ice and snow at the transition with the trees. Two blowdowns of no concern.

Special Required Equipment: Barebooted to the summit and used my boot spikes most of the way down. I kept on removing them before crossing the ledges and putting them back on when I hit the trees. Some traction helpful on the descent. Crampons are an overkill at this point. Poles always.

Comments: What a nice day. Sunny, no wind, and temps just right. Back at the car by 12 noon and saw nobody the whole morning.
