Trail: Moosilauke - Gorge Brook/Carriage/Snapper

Date Hiked: 11/23

Conditions: Old snow, pretty well packed, with a bit of fresh powder on top. We did not use Glencliff Trail, but two groups who did advised us that it was icy.

Special Required Equipment: We all used Stabilicers. We carried snowshoes but did not need or use them on our route. It was windy and cold enough for goggles, face masks, shell mitts, etc. above treeline.

Comments: No views, but still an outstanding day to be out. Wind and temps made the summit brisk but tolerable. Nice to put on the winter gear!

Ravine Lodge Road is not gated, but not plowed either. It was rutted and icy. Most parties walked in from NH 118. With 4WD and cautious driving, we were able to drive in to Ravine Lodge, as was at least one other (AWD) vehicle.

Thanks Pat, Jeff, and Mary for a great day. Enjoyed the apres-hike burritos, beers 'n margaritas.
