Trail: Hancock Notch trail, Cedar Brook trail Date Hiked: 11/25/07 Conditions: Light snow and some ice on both trails. Water crossings on Cedar Brook trail were difficult. Turned back before summitting. Special Required Equipment: Waterproof boots, poles, and patience. Traction not necessarily needed but would help at water crossings (Stabilicers or Microspikes). Comments: Beautiful day out in the woods but plans to summit North and South Hancock foiled by difficult water crossings. Spent a lot of time bushwacking upstream and downstream to try and find better crossings. In the end we decided it was better to stay safe and dry so we called it a day after crossing the stream on the Cedar Brook trail 3 times, with at least 2 more potentially difficult crossings left to go.
