Trail: Kearsarge North

Date Hiked: 11/25/07

Conditions: Ice on the trail from the ledges on up.

Special Required Equipment: Some sort of traction is very useful. I used Stabilicers and Brian used crampons. There were a few "sneaker hikers" on the trail and they decided to turn around after the ice flows became serious stuff.

Comments: I love this hiking season when it is so exciting to see the changes and challenges in the mountains. Especially enjoy looking at how water on the trail is frozen into steps and ripples and other interesting shapes. And the crunchy sound of the thin, white ice when I step on it.
