Trail: Mt. Crawford via Davis Path Date Hiked: 28-Nov-2007 Conditions: Trail conditions were much the same as reported by Wolfgang for his 19-Nov trek, i.e. light dusting of snow most of the way with some packed ice mixture. The ledges were mostly clear with some patchy ice and snow. Two blow-downs of no concern. Special Required Equipment: Trekking poles and some traction helpful, particularly on the descent. Crampons would be overkill at this point.
Comments: Always a great hike. Provides good views, and a good work out. Considered continuing on over to Mt. Resolution. However, decided against this since the Davis Path didn’t appear to have been broken out beyond the turn off for the Mt. Crawford Spur Path, and so going to Resolution might have involved more time and energy than was available today. Submitted by:1HappyHiker |
