Trail: Redfield & Cliff from Adir Loj Date Hiked: 10/21 Conditions: Trails were fairly wet and muddy. Some tree roots were very slippery, but most rocks were fine. Route finding was very easy. Not many blowdowns to contend with. Special Required Equipment: The usual waterproof boots and gaiters. We didn't bring poles, they may have been useful in places, but a pain to travel with in others. Comments: This wasn't a walk in the park hike. There was a lot of high stepping and root/tree assisted pull ups, especially the herd path up Redfield, and the trip around Avalanche Lake is kind of a fun obstacle course. A nice change from going in from Upper Works. Redfield herdpath took about 75 min and Cliff about 45 min. It was a great trip on a gorgeous day. #41 & #42 for me. Submitted by: Lori F. |
