Conditions: The stretch of trail just below the notch is soggy.

Special Required Equipment: Waterproof boots for the long, soggy section. Poles for balance. Layers for the wind at the summit.

Comments: One of my favorite Catskill hikes. Such a variety of terrain, from the beaver dam, Diggler Quarry, and up the steep, rocky face. Couple this with the splendid fall foliage and the charming, colorful town of Tannersville, and you have the makings of a perfect Catskill Mountain experience.
