Trail: Sugarloaf 3800' Catskills Date Hiked: 10/28 Conditions: Up Pecoy Notch Trail. Down Mink Hollow. Both trails wet from heavy recent rains. Not a problem though... just wear waterproof boots. I didn't even need gaitors. Coming down Devil's Path to Mink Hollow -- lots of slick rock, slow going. Special Required Equipment: Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Pretty easy hike but a little on the slow side due to a lot of slickness (water, we leaves etc.) Comments: Great Hike! Great weather -- nice and cold and blustery on top. Leaves all down so you get those Fall/Winter Catskills views all the time. Best though is the quarry on Pecoy Notch Trail. Submitted by: Doctor Wu |
