Trail: Colvin and Blake

Date Hiked: 11-10-07

Conditions: Dusting of snow down low that grew to about 8 inches at higher elevations. Most water is frozen solid but there are occasional wet spots. The side of Colvin going into the col between Colvin and Blake was solid when I went down. When I came back up it had been in the sun and there was some of that slimy, slippery mud as a result!

Special Required Equipment: I carried crampons but didn't use them. There were a couple of spots where they would have been helpful. Water bottle cozies are a must! My water froze, temps never got above 25F.

Comments: It took me much longer than I liked to get up that little chute just below the summit of Colvin! Views were awesome today!
