Trail: Street and Nye Date Hiked: 11/11/07 Conditions: My friend Chris and I decided to try our new stabilicers for this hike. About half an inch of snow at heart lake gradually increased to about 8 inches by the summit of Street. Trail, though unmarked, is easy to follow. Around 20 degrees for most of the hike. Great early winter conditions! Special Required Equipment: Stabilicers were used and worked perfectly. Snow not deep enough for crampons. Saw a couple of hikers bare booting so it is still possible. Comments: Heard some hikers in the Loj saying the snow on Marcy is a little deeper (up to 24") Almost winter. Submitted by: FattyD |
