Trail: Giant Date Hiked: 11/17/07 Conditions: Some snow part way up. Ice about half way then 6 to 8 inches of snow to the top. No problems with the use of crampons. Special Required Equipment: Winter gear, poles, crampons and of course a camera. Comments: Beautiful hike from the ridge trail. First time for Phil and fortunately he got some great views for a change. Met many people decending from a sunrise hike. (Martin, we did not find your snowshoe. Sorry) I must say this was one of my most enjoyable hikes. Conditions were perfect. The blue sky made for some beautiful pictures. Just starting to do winter hiking in the Adirondacks and we loved it. Submitted by: Bonnie & Phil |
