Trail: Street and Nye Date Hiked: 11/17/07 Conditions: Hiked in under head lamp Friday night and couldn't make progress beyond the river. In the morning, had to hike about 3-4 tenths of a mile back up the river to find a safe crossing. The lower elevations were okay: some snow, some mud. It was cold enough that things had frozen over and our pace wasn't slowed. The streams were all still free flowing. The upper elevations had several feet of fresh powder. Definitely needed snow shoes. Crampons were not necessary. All in all, it was a beautiful day for hiking with unlimited visability and bright sunshine. Special Required Equipment: Snow shoes.
