Trail: Narragansett Trail, Rockville Date Hiked: 3/15/2007 Conditions: Have hiked this trail many times. The Sweet Water Banshee's train here and it is one of the few places Rhode Island has to offer on one trail where you can rock climb (dinosaur rock), Cave explore (dinosaur rock), hike, great views and wildlife around the ponds, a dam 4/5's of the way through followed by a nice ravine to play in. After flooding the ravine can be tough to cross in the usual places and there is constant water/mud at the base of Dinosaur Rock. SWB - Commish, Clay, Brook & Yukon. Special Required Equipment: Day pack, map if you do not know the area well as there are many trails that run off the Narragansett Trail and Gore Tex boots are always a plus. Soon mosquito repellent will be a must. Comments: The lean to is still in good shape and a great place to spend a night around a fire with friends. Submitted by: The Commissioner |
