Trail: Camel's Hump - Burrows to Long Trail Junction

Date Hiked: 3/18/07

Conditions: There was at least a foot and a half of fresh powder, more near the top, but the trail had been pretty well packed by around noon on Sunday. Trail to the summit appeared to be packed too, at least what we saw of it. It snowed all day, making for a pleasant hike up but the snow and the wind made us decide not to tackle the summit. At the junction with the long trail there's still at least 4-5 feet of snow on the ground - the signs are close to buried.

Special Required Equipment: Snowshoes were pretty much necessary.

Comments: Lots of skiers heading up to Bald Hill, after the junction for that trail not a lot of people. Beautiful conditions!

The snowplow had finished plowing out Saturday night's new snow from the parking area and the access road by right around 10:30 or so AM on Sunday. Not sure if this is typical or not, but maybe good to know for future snowfalls.
