Trail: Jay Peak and Big Jay via LT Date Hiked: 5/28/07 Conditions: The trail up to Jay Peak was snow free and only moderately wet and spongy. We didn't see a bug all day, possibly because of the breeze. Having read that the bushwack to Big Jay is located 100 feet after reentering the woods, after crossing the ski trail, we went looking and there it was. The log is still laying down in front of the trail. This is really a trail and not a bushwack, at least by our standards. There were a few patches of snow between the peaks as well as lots of water on the trail. There are some blowdowns but herd paths around them too. Special Required Equipment: Waterproof boots and gaters. Comments: After the fog lifted there was a fantastic view. No other people on the trail today, Memorial Day.
