Date Hiked: 6/24/07

Conditions: Forest Road 49 was still gated, so I walked up the road until the second crossing of Boyden Brook. At that point I left the road and followed the brook until about 2400' and then headed SE through beautiful open hardwoods. At about 2700' the woods got a little thicker and steeper. The summit was disappointing as I found some Forest Service equipment and an antenna.I'm not sure how they got the equipment up there, but the didn't bring it up from the North.

Comments: I stopped at the ranger station on Thursday to see if I was allowed to drive up FR49 and they told me I was. To bad they neglected to tell me it was gated. Hopefully they will clean up the summit now that this is a new wilderness area
