Trail: AT from Williamstown, MA to Rt. 9, Bennington, VT

Date Hiked: 7-8 to 7-9-07

Conditions: A few blowdowns between Seth Warner and Rt. 9, but only two that required going around. Trail pretty muddy, and a bit overgrown, in that section as well.

Special Required Equipment: Raingear and earplugs! Bugs weren't bad, so we didn't even use bug dope, which was great.

Comments: A nice mellow 2-day hike on the AT. A few blueberries up on Pine Cobble-yum! :-) Only took us about 3 hours to get to Seth Warner from Rt. 2 in Williamstown, and we arrived in time to take spots in the shelter before the afternoon rain came down. There were 16 people at the shelter/tentsites that night, mostly those starting out on the Long Trail for their thru-hikes, which made the night fun but noisy. The next day we awoke to rain, but managed to get up and out pretty early. The trail was very muddy and a bit overgrown in spots, but we still made good time down to Rt. 9. Very pretty woods and an enjoyable hike!
