Trail: Camel's Hump via Monroe, Dean, LT, Monroe Date Hiked: 08/29/2007 Conditions: Very dry and clear, some exposed rock on LT up from Dean Special Required Equipment: Poles helpful, sunblock for LT portion Comments: Perfect day, trails in great shape. Decided on loop using Dean and LT from south. This section was very hard, with a lot of steep rock face and some exposure which made me nervous. However, views from Dean and LT south are awesome. You get a lot of previews of the Hump, so worth the trouble. I put away the poles for the final scramble up the exposed summit, but it wasn't as hard is it looked. Monroe on the the way down was easy and a delight after the tough route up. Perfect day, awesome hike, 2:45 up, 1:45 down, 4.5 hrs total. Submitted by: Son of Grumpy Gran & the Rookie |
