Trail: Killington via Bucklin Trail 3.6 miles Date Hiked: 09-29-07 Conditions: As Creaky Knees stated on 8/11 hike..."A very civil trail". certainly an accurate description. The trail starts off with a couple of relatively flat warm-up miles along streams. The trail gradually gets steeper in stages until the last .2 miles are steep & rocky albeit short. Nice old shelter "Cooper Lodge" quarter mile below summit at Long Trail Junction. Special Required Equipment: Fall arrived...warm layers, hat & gloves were welcome at summit. Comments: Nothing quite like Fall hiking in VT. Enjoyed the journey to the trail head through endless bucolic settings to fill the senses. First VT-4K for Trammy and NHtrailguy. Trail head is not well marked located 4 miles on left from east entrance of Wheelerville Rd off of Rt 4. Follow blue blazes.
