Date Hiked: Sep 23-25, 07

Conditions: Water SCARCE thru Camel Hump State Forest. None at Birch Glen Camp, good at Cowles and very good at Montclair. Nothing in between. Warm days with hard climbs, we went thru lots of water. Carry extra. Trails in excellent condition with fresh white blazes in this section.

Special Required Equipment: Hat and warmer layers for windy summits and cold evenings. I love having poles, but there is alot of rock scrambling on this section. Had to put poles away or hold in one hand. Tricky and steep in places.

Comments: Loved the views in every direction.
