Trail: Dorset Peak

Date Hiked: 11/10/2007

Conditions: Lots of hunters (we saw their trucks and the actual hunters!). We've parked on Tower Road, near a "water wheel" in the brook. The road was too rough after for our Chevrolet Cavalier. The road goes up easily, we've passed the hunting camp, where it gets more steep after. We turned right at the T (height of the land). We took the 1st trail/road on the right (like a snowmobile trail, less well maintained than the main road, there was a cairn). After, we took right again on a foot trail (don't remember if there was a cairn). Got to the remains of the fire tower and the BBQ, at the false summit. We turned left there, at about 90 degrees. Kept straight up to Dorset Peak (we saw the door knobs and then the old sign). To come back, we took right at the door knob: that took us back to the road.

Special Required Equipment: Orange cap and orange vest!

Comments: Traces of snow and traces of ice. No winter conditions yet out there.
